The Basics

Children ages 0-5:  1000 Books Before Kindergarten

This program is for children from birth until he or she enters Kindergarten. Children will log the number of books they read either through Beanstack or on a paper tracking sheet, and will be eligible to win prizes for every 100 books read.  If you would like to register your child, you may come in and sign up or register through Beanstack

1000 Books LOG sheet

Children ages 0-4:  Pre-readers Summer Challenge

Parents and children will log the minutes they read, up to 5 hours, through Beanstack, and complete 10 activities

to win a book, a certificate of completion, and a fun farm animal rubber ducky.

Children ages 5-12:  Tails and Tales Summer Reading Challenge

Children who complete 10 hours of reading this summer will win a prize book and completion certificate.


All children who participate each week in the challenges by logging minutes,

or activities will be entered into drawings all summer long to win prizes from many of our participating local businesses.  Those children who complete the challenge will be entered into a Grand Prize Drawing!

The Summer Reading Program will run June 1-July 23. 

Please pick up your summer reading challenge prizes by July 29 at 5:00 pm.



        The Children’s Department is located on the lower level of the Bradford Memorial Library. We offer books and media geared toward children from birth to age 12.
