Reopening Plan


<<Updated April 7, 2021>>Bradford Memorial Library is open with limited in-person services. The library is following guidance from the City, County, State and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention regarding best safety practices for customers and staff.

WHAT IS AVAILABLE

The following services will be offered:

— Our hours will be Monday-Thursday from 9 AM to 7 PM, Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, and Saturday from 9 AM to 2 PM.

— Holds pickup (curbside and inside the library with staff assistance)

— Browsing of shelves with time limits. (Customers are asked to keep their browsing visits to 30 minutes. If you are also using the computers, please keep your entire visit in the library to one hour.)

–Public computing by appointment and with limited seating capacity. (The limit for computer use will be one hour.) PLEASE CALL US AT 316-321-3363 TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO USE A PUBLIC COMPUTER.

–Wi-Fi access with limited seating capacity and time limits. (The limit for computer/ wi-fi use will be one hour.)

–Print, copy and fax services

WHAT IS NOT AVAILABLE

— Meeting rooms are closed.

— Some in-person programs and events will take place as announced.

— Furniture has been rearranged or removed to encourage social distancing and mitigate gatherings.

— Staff will not be available to help with computer use. Staff will stay six feet away from customers in an attempt to social distance.

— The library is not accepting donations of materials during this time.

— No public phone use will be allowed.

SAFETY PROTOCOLS

— Customers and staff are required to wear a cloth face covering. These should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or anyone unable to remove the mask without assistance.

— Building capacity limits will be reduced to reflect social distancing guidelines. At this time the building limit will be 45 people.

CURBSIDE SERVICES

— Curbside will still be offered for hold pickups. Holds may also be picked up inside the building. You may decide for yourself which service to use, however we ask that if you are not feeling well, you stick to the curbside service.

  1. Place holds in our catalog  at https://kanshare.bywatersolutions.com/ or by calling and speaking with us. You will log on to the Kanshare catalog by using your Bradford card number, and the password is the last four digits of your phone number. If you have trouble logging on, give us a call at 316-321-3363.
  2. After we call you on the phone to notify you that your hold is ready, you may come to the front parking lot of the library and call us at 316-321-3363 to let us know that you are here and would like curbside service.
  3. Library staff will bring your items to your car. There is no need to exit the car. We may ask questions to verify your identity.

RETURNING CHECKED OUT ITEMS

— Please use our materials drop for items being returned to the library. Employees will not accept in-person returns at this time. Materials may remain on your account for up to four days after returning them for safe handling. No additional fees will accrue.
